As the CONDEM government look to further shift wealth to the rich and leave more and more of us literally gasping for breath as we try to make ends meet, we are proud to express our support and solidarity with the PCS members who will be taking strike action tomorrow over pay, pensions and terms and conditions. The government has refused to negotiate so more action is planned on the 5th of April with half day walkouts. When the chancellor stands up to deliver his budget, PSC members will be protesting across the UK, with rallies including one just meters away, outside Parliament from 12pm.
Hand in hand with making more cuts to us, we see the rich get richer, the global sovereign wealth funds are predicted to grow by $1 billion a day this year, likely to reach $5.6 trillion. PCS & UK Uncut have regularly rightly argued for corprate tax to be collected which would wipe out any so called ‘debt’. But we all know its not a debt, not one which any of us should be paying anyway!
If you’re not a PCS member you can show support by joining a Budget Day rally in your area, writing to your MP and sending a message of support to [email protected]
PCS have stood up, again, to this government but we are aware they should not be left to strike alone but there should be a general strike which links all the current disputes and cuts, with the wider community. We will be, again, lobbying the TUC to push this forward on the 24th of April.
There will be a joint NSSN/SACA fringe meeting on Wednesday after the PCS strike rally in Glasgow at 1.30pm.
