URGENT SUPPORT NEEDED
Colleagues,
Our Brothers and Sisters inBromley are facing unprecedented attacks on their National Terms and Conditions, pay and bargaining.
UNITE are the only Union making the stand in Bromley to oppose these unacceptable moves to break away from National T&C’s and Pay talks. .
We need All Branches to mobilise as many people to attend the next Full Council meeting on:
Monday 12th November 2012.
6pm at the Civic Buildings.
WE cannot stress the fact enough that if Bromley get away with these attacks, then each of you will be fighting the same battle in your own back yard.
We need hundreds at the Lobby, the Branch is doing all it can to get their members to attend now we all need to show solidarity.
Please mobilise your activists and other members to make sure this Tory Council knows it has a fight on it’s hands and we as a Union can and will stand up for the hard working women and men in Local Authorities.
If you can take someone with you let me know so that travel is co-ordinated and attendance maximised.
To-date colleagues we have had the same people attend lobbies, we must now all Officers and Activists get up and make a stand.
We look forward to seeing you all at this critical lobby.
Lets show the Tories of Bromleythey have a fight on their hands with Unite the Union!
In Solidarity
Paul Travers and Onay Kasab
Report from last protest:
“The council chamber in Bromley was so packed on 23 October that protesting council workers spilled out onto the council chamber floor. 120 angry workers came to oppose council plans to opt out of the national terms and conditions for council workers.
The council are saying staff have nothing to worry about as they are not proposing to change any of the existing terms and conditions and we should trust in them. But, addressing the councillors, staff side secretary Glenn Kelly said: “the last time I heard someone say ‘trust in me’ was the snake in Jungle Book – just as he was about to devour Mowgli!” The rest of the report we have taken this from can be read by clicking here.
