As expected, the Tory Trade Union Bill passed its 3rd reading last night November 10th. It now goes to the Lords. But we must keep up the pressure and prepare for resisting it of it becomes law.
A rally organised by the Trade Union Coordinating Group (TUCG) made it clear this attack on trade union rights would not pass without resistance.
The rally was addressed by John McDonnell, Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer who warned the Bill was “an existential threat to the trade union movement”
Pledging further resistence even if the Bill becomes law, John McInally, Vice President of the PCS: “The Tories will never have the right to take away our right to strike”
Finally Rob Williams, Chair of the NSSN, called on the TUC to organise “a council of war” to overturn the Bill
