Birmingham Save Our Connexions Campaign

Rally

12 noon Tuesday 12 September, outside Birmingham Council House

Birmingham City Council has threatened cuts of 25% or higher, it has also put closure on the agenda and has served S188 redundancy consultation notices on all 270 Connexions staff. Connexions provides Careers Advice and guidance, help for young unemployed and long term help for young people with difficulties to all Birmingham’s 13-19 year olds. The number of young people Not in Employment, Education or Training fell by 45% in Birmingham 2005-2009 - which helps prove we are very successful at what we do.

Greater London Association of Trades Councils

150 anniversary celebration

23 October 2010, large hall of the TUC HQ

The main concern that spurred on the founding of the London Trades Council in 1860 was the need to build trade union support and solidarity in the face of hard employers and unsympathetic government and law. We wish to invite as wide a range of individuals and organisations to come and join in the discussion. For information contact secretary@glatuc.org.uk
